Meningitis B Outbreak
The Meningitis B vaccination is part of the current childhood immunisation scheme. Under normal circumstances we can only offer this vaccination to those under 2 years old.
As of 19th March 2026, vaccination has been extended to adults who have been offered antibiotic prophylaxis AND fulfil one or more of the criteria below:
- Students or staff of the University of Kent who are normally resident on the Canterbury Campus and who might have travelled home;
- Students in relevant halls of residence or other private dwellings who attend other universities in Canterbury and might have travelled home;
- Attended Club Chemistry from 5th to 16th March 2026.
